Expert Autism & ADHD Parenting Advice Without Months of Waiting

5 Signs You Need Expert Autism or ADHD Parenting Support
➜ You've tried "standard" parenting advice, but it made things worse because it wasn't designed for your child's unique brain
➜ You feel judged by others who don't understand your child's challenges, leaving you isolated and second-guessing yourself
➜ Your family's daily life revolves around preventing the next meltdown, trying to predict what your child will cope with and walking on eggshells
➜ You stay awake worrying if your child will ever develop the independence they need to have a happy life
➜ Despite reading countless books and scouring the internet, you still don't have a clear roadmap for your family's unique needs
The Approach for Parents Who Want Calm, Connection and Confidence — Not Constant Battles
When you're struggling with meltdowns, school challenges, and daily battles, what you need isn't more generic advice - you need strategies specifically designed for your child's unique brain. Â
After 20+ years working with neurodivergent children in both the NHS and private practice, I've seen how understanding your child's perspective and making targeted adjustments can completely transform family life. Â
It's not about overhauling everything you're doing.
Often, it's about small but powerful shifts in how you communicate, set boundaries, and create routines that work with your child's needs rather than against them.
These practical adjustments have helped many hundreds of families move from daily struggles to calm, confident and happy.
I'MÂ
DR LUCY RUSSELL

Expert Autism Parenting Advice from Someone Who Truly Gets It
I’m Lucy Russell, a clinical child psychologist and mum of two.
For over 20 years I’ve supported children and families through my work in the NHS and private practice. I specialise in autism and ADHD — and I know first-hand the joys and challenges that can come with neurodivergence. Like most of the parents I work with, I also have neurodivergent family members.
This means I bring both professional expertise and real-life understanding to my advice.
Parents tell me they feel reassured and empowered because my strategies are evidence-based and practical. They work in busy, messy family life — not just in textbooks!
Over the years, I’ve helped many hundreds of parents feel more confident, more connected with their child, and better equipped to navigate life’s ups and downs.
My approach is never one-size-fits-all. Every child is different. Every family is different. I’m here to help you find what works for yours.
How You Can Work With Me
Five years ago I created They Are The Future because my clinic simply couldn’t meet the huge demand for one-to-one support. There just weren’t enough appointments — and I knew parents needed help sooner.
My online courses and parent membership now allow me to support families all over the UK. No waiting lists. No referral needed. Just expert support you can access straight away, plus the chance to ask your questions whenever they come up.
Everything I offer is grounded in 20+ years as a child psychologist, being a mum of two, and a specialist in autism and ADHD. It’s practical, down-to-earth support designed for real family life — and it’s here for you whenever you need it.

"Lucy has been a brilliant psychologist for our 8 year old daughter and has quickly built a warm rapport with her and with us. She has gently empowered us as parents to find the right solutions for our individual family situation. We are so pleased to have found her! ."
Â
"Lucy took great care to listen to us carefully, identify the issues and help us understand our son’s behaviour. As a direct consequence of her help we’ve been able to offer enhanced support to our son."
